Dr.-Ing. Bettina Wittke-Schmitt

After obtaining her pre-diploma at the RWTH Aachen, Mrs. Dr. Bettina Wittke-Schmitt switched to the Technical University of Hannover, where she received her diploma, specializing in municipal water management. She wrote her master thesis, for which she was awarded by the Oswald Schulze Foundation, at the Virginia Polytechnic and State University in Blacksburg Virginia (USA).

After completing her studies Dr. Bettina Wittke-Schmitt has worked at the Federal Waterways and Shipping Authority of Germany. She concluded this work in 1996 with the second state examination.

In 1997 Dr. Bettina Wittke-Schmitt joined the WBI-Team. She did her doctoral degree in 1999 on the topic „Permeability of rock salt - theory and experiment“, externally at the RWTH Aachen. In 2001 she was granted power of attorney. Since 2004 she is a managing partner of WBI.

Since 2011, in addition to other activities, Dr. Bettina Wittke-Schmitt has become a member of the board of editors of the tunneling pocketbook of the German Geotechnical Society. Dr. Wittke-Schmitt speaks 5 languages fluently and is the author of more than 30 national and international publications.
