The Walter Wittke Foundation supports science and research in the field of rock mechanics. The foundation’s special focus is on the understanding and description of the rock mechanical behavior of fractured rock in terms of the AJRM (Anisotropic Jointed Rock Model). Each year, the Walter Wittke Prize is granted for outstanding publications and projects from the construction or mining sector that represent progress with regard to the description of rock mechanical behavior of fractured rock in the sense of the AJRM (Anisotropic Jointed Rock Model).
