Mines, final repositories & closure concepts

Due to our special knowledge in rock mechanics as well as our proprietary and powerful computer programs, we are specialists in diverse special issues of mining, final repositories and closure systems. Our complex systems enable, for example, the modeling of primary, secondary and tertiary creep of salt rock as well as the stress and deformation behavior of squeezing claystones in complex three-dimensional geometries. Examples of our activities are:

  • Stability investigations for mines and shaft structures located at large depth
  • Closure and decommissioning concepts for mines and for final repositories for radioactive wastes
  • Closure structures, including development of materials, for final repositories for radioactive wastes
  • Closure structures for shafts of final repositories for radioactive wastes
  • Prognosis of subsidences caused by mining
  • Rehabilitation measures for operational mines
  • Mine development
